Yankee Trial Rules
A 'Yankie' trial is a bit of fun and has the marking system back to
front! You only earn points for a cleaning a section and each route is
worth a different amount of marks. You can elect to ride a different route
on each section you come to if you think you can clean it. So all yellow
sections are worth 1 point, all red sections are worth 2 points, all blue
sections are worth 3 points and all white sections are worth 5 points. The
object is to get as many points as you can, if you dab, stall, roll back or
fault in anyway on a section you score no points for that section. If you
are usually a red route rider but think that you can tackle the blue route on a
particular section and clean it then you stand to gain 3 points; equally if you
are a normally a blue route rider and thik the only chance of a clean is to ride
the yellow route then you only gain one point but that's better than faulting on
a harder setion and not gaining any points! Not as complicated as it
sounds and I am assured it's a lot of fun!
